I went to this Powwow Sun. afternoon. Circle was kinda small due to all the tents. Rocky Park was sounding good!

Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

LOL got home around 4 am this morning! LMAO!!
I was there and I agree with Burberrilish that Rocky Park sounded very good. As for the circle feeling small, that's the way it has been at CSULB.

It's time the committee ask for a bigger space. I wonder if they would, or if the Tongva people would allow for it to be held on Puvugna?

I remember when my mother asked permission from the Gabrielinos/Tongva for a powwow to be held in San Dimas. They were happy that somebody recognised them and actually asked since the greater L.A. basin is their territory.

I've been going to CSULB for many years and it has usually been held in the same location. There were a couple of years that they had it in an auditorium on campus. As a dancer, I feel the arena is perfect. No one is stepping on each other. UCLA's arena is way too big. You want something that will accommodate your dancers and yet not have them shoulder to shoulder like at Gathering. As usual, the committee did a good job running their pow-wow. The singing was good and weather was nice and cool. :)
Work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching.

You've got a point there about UCLA. The main thing that bothers me about CSULB is that during intertribals I have to remember to practice and survey the arena prior to my contest. There are some hum dinger potholes on the northeast side of the center drum and ooh boy if you hit them while you're contesting.....

Like I said, the singing was good, the weather was nice and cool, and the committee did a great job! CSULB's Native student associate is by far the most together student group in So. Cal, lots of synergy. As long as you dance on grass or dirt, you are going to have potholes. No helping that.

Oh no, that's not their fault about the potholes, dancers just have to be mindful of them though. I pray when I'm a grandma in golden age I remember to avoid them!

So I have noticed of late there are cobwebs taking over the walls here at pws.com, amidst various noble attempts at reviving powwow talk, it just don't seem to be happenin.

                            NO complaints...

Looks like its going to turn out to be a pretty big event this year with Bill Miller in concert, N8V, and some others showing up. Last year some of the Longest Walk 2 peoples showed up.
