Don't know if this should be in here or its own thread but what is considered a big powwow. I mean GON for sure, Denver March, Schemitzun are definitely big. What else is considered big. Over a 1,000 dancers more than 25 drums. Not trying to be a wiseguy or anything. I would really like to know what everbody thinks is big or before its classified as big. Is it the size of the audience, size of the arbour. I know its all of these but when is it considered a big powwow.Leave a comment:

Right now, planning on Gathering and the NMAI pow wow in August. Might also hit Schemitzun.

It's not on the calender and I don't know who is sponsering it but the 6th annual Stone Mountian Pow Wow is coming up in Nov.

I tried to Google this pow wow, and I couldn't get any info for this year...I was wondering if anyone knew where this pow wow is held in Kahnawake. Hello Everyone!
I have danced at pow wows for several years and there has never been an entry fee. This past weekend while at a pow wow, I received a flyer for another pow wow (different location) that is charging a $400 entry fee for each of the dance catagories. I have not see this...08-04-2009, 02:27 AM

I'll start out by saying the usual things were good about this powwow: the drums and the dancers. It's them that ultimately make or break a powwow, for the most part.
