Just wanted to start a thread to announce the 40th Annual Haliwa-Saponi Tribal Powwow in Hollister, North Carolina. We are working hard to plan this year's event and want to see all of you come. This year's head staff is as follows.

Dancing Eagle I was wondering what other powwow is going on that weekend? For Cherokee Woman, the prize money is as follows:

Adult Categories: Men's Northern Traditional, Southern Straight, Ladies Northern, Ladies Southern, Fancy, Grass, Jingle

1st - $500 2nd $300 3rd $150

Teen Categories: Traditional, Fancy, Grass, Jingle

1st - $200 2nd $150 3rd $75

Juniors - Traditional, Fancy, Grass, Jingle

1st - $125 2nd $75 3rd $50

Drum Contest - Must have at least 5 singers

1st - $1500 2nd - $800 3rd - $450 4th - $300


Golden Age Special - 55 and Older, Men's and Women's One Winner per category

$150.00

There is one in Hatteras that weekend. We were talking about coming to y'alls but they asked us to be host drum. So, we'll be there instead. Maybe next year.
