          Women's Golden Age: 1 - Charlene Cozad
          2 - Sharon Roberts
          3 - Claudia Spicer
          4 - Dorsey Sadongei

Golden Age Men: 1 - Darrell Moore
          2 - ?
          3 - ?
          4 - John Butler

Mr. and Mrs. Pow Wow didn't place in these categories so they left in a huff.

As for Charlene and Kiowa contesting, I'm sure they talked this over and since there wasn't anything they could possibly do, they went ahead and contested. I'm sure the money would help the family.

Okay okay, heres the best I can do:

Mens Fancy (This category was packed out)
                1- Spike Draper
                2- Jerry Cleveland Jr.
                3. Wayne Silas Jr.
                4.Daryl Jack????(Maybe- not sure)

                Mens Traditional
                1. Wayashti Perkins
                2. R.J ????? (from buffalo horse)
                3. ??????
                4. ???? Tsosie (Chicken Dancer)

                Mens Straight
                1. Juaqin Hamilton
                2. Billy Komacheet
                3. Denny Medicine Bird
                4. Kelly Switch

Cant remember a thing about mens grass except there was a run-off for fourth and Sateko Dansforth won that.

A lot of the categories were packed out, so a lot of good dancers didnt place.

I thought the women's cloth and men's fancy shouldve had more run-offs because they both had two groups with NO call backs each night. Doesnt make sense, or maybe I just dont understand.

The hosts, Buffalo Horse and Otter Trail had to sing thier azzes off. I felt they shouldve past more songs to the contest drums more often.

Appologies to all the other drums, we suggested to the committee that the other drums sing more but it was a no go apparently, thanks for all the props! Good travels to all of you.....

"Where is the tradition these days. I'm referring to contesting even during a time of death in a family. If that was my husband and father, we would have packed up and left immediately. We all observed the hurt and grief on the husbands face as he pulled away from the arena. However I guess money was more important to the wife. We all watched and our hearts went out to this man. Eventho I'm originally from Kansas I know how traditional the tribes in Oklahoma are. I'm only stating what I saw and how I felt about this. I know I'll probably get slammed for this but I had to get this out. Sometimes the truth hurts."[/QUOTE]

I know this family and know that they talked with others back home and were told to "go ahead". The father told his son to take over the drum group and finish out the weekend. The words you spoke about the wife were uncalled for - in my opinion. They are a great family and very traditional....if the family said go ahead and finish......what difference does it make to anyone on this board. Maybe you should address your concerns to the family instead of in this forum.
