Well Im in with you all...All pow-wows need change with Staff to make fair for all participants.

Pow-wow was pretty good and good singing for the groups there. Was a nice thing to see that they had a 49 Contest this year and peeps seems to enjoy it..so Props to the Committee for putting this in. But the only bad thing of course...too dang hot during the wide open area for Gourd Dance.....Man do I got a good burn for it haha. Should have Gourd Dance under the Pavilion..least its shade and den they can get those fans they had out for the Pavilion....but..Overall...good Supper they had....good additions on Chicken Dance Special and good Singing..>Way to go to all those who came and enjoyed themselves!!

Thanks for posting the winners. The rest of the committee worked very hard these two days of the powwow and they did a great job at everything they did! Everyone survived! It's always surprising nowdays how the winners turn out, but lots of powwows determine winners through the 'point system'. Sometimes good dancers don't show for grand entry or for exhibition thinking 'O, I got this one' but...it goes to show, gotta work for the bucks sometimes!
    GOOD POWWOW!
    Get ready for next year!

Sounds like good dancers won in each category. LOL This is a good pow wow and good people, so a few different winners came out, to me that shows that judges picked accordingly and not the same ones every year. It is always good to change up on your head judge every year though, it makes people feel they are getting a fair shake. Like posted before, you can't win them all.....it would be nice to though. LOL

yeah....you are right....you win some and lose...that is powwow life...but there is a thing called fair and i think that the only way it will come close to fair is by getting a new head judge...and i hope next year will be better since i am coming down....

Well, you win some...lose some. You can't win them all. I do think that a new head judge should be considered for next year, but that would be up to the pow-wow committee.

Thanks for posting. I was wondering who won down that way. As for the judging, I have the same opinion about Red Earth. Some of the top notch dancers either didn't get in or placed real low. And when they were announcing the winners, I could see a lot of puzzled looks on faces or people disagreeing with how the dancers placed. AGAIN, the dancers were not judged on dancing ability. Seems to me the judges don't know what to look for.
