    colorado powwows?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ok, so we are moving to colorado springs/fort carson area in about 2 months. right now we are in the fort hood/killeen texas area and there are not many powwows that I am aware of. I think there is only 2 a year in this area. :( I am hoping that colorado is different. I havent been to a powwow well almost a year. I went to one here last september but it wasnt like the ones I used to go to in Georgia:) so my question to everybody is do you know about any powwows that go on yearly in colorado? thanx for the info in advance

      Welcome to Colorado!

      Hi,

There is not a whole lot going on in the Colorado Springs area. The Lone Feather council is starting to get more active and they are based in the Springs. They have a couple of Powwows on their calendar and some exhibition types events as well.

There are a couple down in Pueblo (about 45 min south of the Springs) every year, but I always seem to hear about them after the fact.

Denver (about an hour North) and it's surrounding areas is where the most activity seems to be. Lots are sponsered through the Denver Indian Center so their website is probably a good one. Also Susie Aikman's radio show's website has a pretty good calendar of events.

Hope that's some help. If you have any questions about the area just ask. I've lived in or around Colorado Springs my whole life.

      Sarah

NYC where are all the powwows at?? i have been here for two years and only know about the one in brooklyn. We need some more powwows in NYC. I think one in central park would be great or Prospect Park.. How about it? Missing California right now lots of powwows there.

Are there any powwows that happen in Pennsylvania? I've actually heard people say a lot...

Hi, my name is Paul and I am new to this site. I am not even sure if this is the correct spot to post this. I am also new to the concept of powwows, and only have a slight understanding of what they are. I would like to take this opportunity to ask if there are any in New England (preferably Massachusetts),...

So, I have just moved to Indiana from Texas for college. Unfortunately that means my powwow is back home, and as it happens during the school year, I can’t go. I was hoping someone had recommendations for Powwows near East Indiana that I could go to. Unfortunately I’m apparently the only...
