  • Pi-ume-sha Treaty Days in Warm Springs, OR

Does anyone have info on this pow-wow. I know it June 24th-26th. Any hotels besides Ka-nee-tah Resort? Host drum? You know all that good stuff... I'm trying to decide which to go to: Mukelshoot (sp), Ft. Washakie, or Pi-ume-sha.

I'm not sure about Ft. Washakie but Muckleshoot Sobriety Pow-wow is July 22, 23, & 24, 2005, as for Pi-Ume-Sha, other than KahNeeTah, there are motels in Madras, about 15 miles from Warm Springs, OR. Also you can camp there, there's a place to shower I think? They have moon rooms toos, (out houses) and it is June 24-26th, look up www.nwpowwows.com.

I would love to go to Pi-Ume-Sha at Warm Springs ,Oregon. It is always a good time there . Being from Arizona I usually try and make a trip up there to visit my cousins . I would suggest that if you go that you try to make the events . Go for a early morning run and meet everyone. The Parade is cool . And then go and check out the Hot Springs in the evening . Later peeps .

        Non-natives spectating

I'm new to the board...I know from searching previous threads that there have been similar threads in the past dealing with non-natives who go and dance at pow-wows. I didn't feel like those threads applied to me because I have no intention to attempt to dance at a powwow because I am non-native and...

        First Powwow!

I attended my first pow-wow today and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I really felt like an outsider. I am 1/4th native blood but know absolutely nothing about my ancestry other than a last name and a tribe (remember, it wasn't cool to be NDN back in those days!) I really want to learn more about...
