You have all the other good ones elsewhere:

      Ute Mountain Casino
      Sounds of Thunder Mountain
      West Valley City Festival

and those that are two or more states away!

Just ask Ron to send you what you need: [email protected] dana.ucc.nau.edu

I have a few other details, but that's about it (head man/lady/boy/girl/gourd) and such, but no details on contest categories. I think he is still getting the flier together as well as waiting for confirmation for the MC.

Gonna get my fill of Dust de la Chinle with a side of no shade. But Ute Mtn is a little appealing, just a little. Probably hit Chinle, I kinda have a streak going over there (will be my second time there).

This is the following weekend (Aug 26-27), but may not make it this year ...

Ron twisted my arm enough for me to agree on helping out again this year.

The flyer says Thunderhouse is NH, but we'll find out on Friday evening.

Time to get ready for the fine power dust that will turn to thick mud if it rains!

This powwow is for the die-hard powwow fan that can last through two days of heat, wind, dust, rain, mud, cold, and crowded parking areas. If you are used to being catered to with sanitized food booths, paved walk areas, shaded seating, bleachers or chairs, and running water, then you best stay home or find something else to do. That something else might include a hike down to the White House trail, a horse-back ride into the canyon or a guided jeep tour deep into the canyon.

Plenty of rooms left at Holiday Inn, Thunderbird Lodge, and Best Western. No price-gouging like at Window Rock.

Friday: Mostly sunny skies. High 89F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Saturday: Partly cloudy with a stray thunderstorm. Highs in the upper 80s and lows in the mid 50s.

thanks dad for showing me the way, teaching me the language, and not leaving my mother...*L*
