(they really "dissed" one dancer in the line-up. kept making it look like they were walking up to him, and then just walked around him instead)

Rained big time on Sunday. Everyone had to dance in the arena. Really stuffy.
Monday was super-humid and sunny.

Bad taste

I watched this so called grass dance special. This dancer who was totally dissed. Should of won this special. The dancer was a men's traditional dancer who danced grass and showed that community the love of dancing.

I talked to him on th boat home, pure class. He had no hard feelings, he said I am a traditional dancer not grass, it was fun just to have the yarn on again.

I have footage of this special and i wish i could put the whole special on powwows.com, maybe one song.

Another dancer who I felt so bad for was in, men's traditional jr adults he didn't place at all , and there was no way he should of been over looked.

I hope this guy will keep his head up and stay confident. Another guy with a good heart.

I don't get it. None of the guys who placed in senior adult or junior adult placed in the special? What's with that????

Grass Special

Anyone who is saying anything bad about the special doesn't know a DAMNNN thing about Grass Dancing.
1st went to Ryan Standing from SK(He won 3rd in regular contest) He's an AWESOME dancer and the only one with any energy at the end of the 4th song
2nd went to Darryl Hill from WI(He made the switch from fancy and tore it up out there, hats off to him for taking the chance and was also out there for the FUN of it...and it showed through his danceing)
3rd went to Ivan Lonechild from AB (He's been dancing grass back when grass dancing was grass dancing...nuff said)

Sorry if you feel anyone was dissed, that was not the intention...I think it was just a build up of suspense thing, sorry. I know Jordan wouldn't have taken it in a bad way, and we talked to him after the special and he was just glad to be in there dancing.

No...that pow wow's not for another few weeks. But this was a special for a lot of money...first place was $1,000. No dancer was forced to join the special. If you love to dance 4 songs isn't a lot.

From what I remember about Schemitzun, we were lucky if we got 2 songs per contest round. Not a whole lot of dancing up there for the amount of prize money.

Where I come from, it's not uncommon for dance specials to have up to six songs. 2 songs then make a cut, dance another 2 songs and pick the finalists. 2 more songs and pick your winners. I've danced in several specials where I've had to dance anywhere between 4-6 songs. 4 songs isn't very much, and I would think grass dancers would be used to that.

I will mention his name, Jordan has done nothing, we all know he was out of the ordinary.

It just seems that everyone cannot forget about the past.

Controversy! The 35 grassdancers there, including the judges would be in trouble if he danced grass at the dome this year
