SWO annual Veterans Wacipi 2005 to be held November 12, 13 at Dakota Magic
The annual Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate veterans wacipi will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 12 & 13, 2005, at Dakota Magic Casino and Convention Center, Hankinson, North Dakota.
Admission is free, and grand entries are scheduled at 1:00 and 7:00 p.m. each day.
MCs are: Butch Felix, Sisseton, SD; and Jerry Dearly, Minneapolis, MN.
Flag registration: Lincoln DeMarrias, Gerald Thompson, Sr., and John Two stars, Jr.

Adult men: Traditional (Ages 50+); Grass – Old Style (Ages 50+); Traditional – Grass – Fancy (Ages 18-49); prizes are $600, $500, $400, $300, $200.
Adult women: Traditional (Ages 50+); Traditional – Traditional Cloth – Jingle – Fancy (Ages 18-49); prizes are $600, $500, $400, $300, $200.
Teen boys: Traditional – Grass – Fancy (Ages 13-17); prizes are $300, $200, $150, $100, $50.

Bill MacConnell Memorial Special: Hosted by the Wanna Family; "Chicken Dance" (Grass & Traditional combined); prizes are $500, $400, $300, $200, $100.
Other specials will be announced.
Candle Light Vigil: Sunday Night at 8 p.m.
Host drums: Grey Fox and Buffalo Lake.
Drum split: $5,000 (must have 5 or more singers per drum; PA system provided).
Meals will be provided on Saturday and Sunday.
Security will be provided. RV space and services are available.
Not responsible for accidents, lost articles, or loss of funds.
The wacipi is an alcohol- and drug-free event.
