This was a good pow wow, the committee was excellent. It was indoor in an arena similar to the one at Kinder, La. Seating and space were convenient. Parking was kind of tight, but the atmosphere was nice and the vendors were great. (my husband bought me a crystal bracelet watch that was awesome for 20 bucks, cheap date I know.LOL)
I had a nice time and I will try to name the winners, but there were 7 places and I did not get all of them. haha

Good gourd dancing, they were on time and lots of intertribals and contesting. Very good pow wow, in my opinion. The committee said they would try to have it every year from now on, on the same dates, etc.I am thankful for my grandparents, my parents, my brothers, my aunties and uncles, my children, my companion and all of those who influenced me to be strong and proud of being who I am and where I come from. i got there and first grand entry already started so we just packed up and headed to another pw...but i was there for the first session but didn't get a chance to say hi to any of my buddies...but to me some of the judges were kinda off...i don't think that some of judges should have judged...but hey that is what i was thinking...and that the head judge was taking care of his own...but for the first annuel alot of really good dancers hopefully better judging next year and i will come back down!!Last edited by jingle-babygirl; 12-05-2005, 11:09 PM.

Choctaw Nation Powwow
I have to agree, I think the head judge was taking care of his own, maybe his family should have not contested, or maybe he should have had someone else pick the judges for his familys catorgies, anyway I have seen this family do the same thing in Livingston, Texas, they only make theirselfs look bad, loose respect, come on we all travel the circuit and know who is related. dont mean to make anyone upset, just wanting to comment.
