Good luck to anyone trying to get through and get an anwser. The people up there have their hands full. The powwow is only a week away and it's huge this year. I live less then 50 miles away and I can't get an anwser via phone or email.
The last time I talked to anyone up there was 2 months ago when the wanted us to provide sound for them. I had to turn them down because we were allready double booked for a rock concert and the Indianopolis powwow.
We have very few weekends left opened. If you want us to provide sound for your powwow, you gotta call now. My company can handle two events at one time but we can't split off to three events. We just don't have the people.
Just like the Cleveland powwow comittee, there are not enough ndns to go around. "Better get it while the getting is good." Plan early.
I have gone to this pow wow each year, b/c it is close to my home. Everyone is expecting it to be much bigger than the previous years. I am not on the committee, but I can tell you that Black Lodge, Milwaukee Bucks, a drum from Canada whose name escapes me. The age categories are the same as everyone, juniors 6-12, teens 13-17, adults 18-49, etc. Points start Saturday at Grand Entry. It is located at Edgewater Park near downtown Cleveland, Ohio. I hope I answered some of your questions, but this is all I know of at the top of my head! Hope to see you there
At this pow-wow we're expecting thousands of people. Why? Because we have thousands and thousands of dollars up for prize money---for singers and dancers. So anyway it's this HUGE pow-wow. The problem? The weather is unpredictable and the arbor does not have a roof. What are we gonna do if the pow-wow...
Recently, my family and I attended a powwow here in Rapid City, and just about went BROKE! Even the admission alone put us back over $100.00 for the weekend. Even my four year old, who slept most of the evening sessions, had to pay $9.75 for the weekend.
I'm getting real pissed off with alot the things powwow people do these days. I am 20 years old and this is my 5th year in dancing, for these past 5 years i learned about a whole different lifestyle than what everyone else from my rez lives. All too much on the rez i see people getting pissed as ****...
POWWOW COMMITEE WHAT COMITTEE? I ARRIVED ON FRIDAY NIGHT AS A DANCER AND TO MEET FRIENDS WHO VEND FROM CHEROKEE NC. WHAT I FOUND WAS RAIN AND MORE RAIN THIS IS EXPECTED., AS WE WHO TRAVEL THE CIRCUT KNOW HAPPENS BT AND THIS IS THE RUB...WHEN WE ARRIVED BACK ON THE GROUNDS ON SATURDAY IT WAS A SEA...
I'll start out by saying the usual things were good about this powwow: the drums and the dancers. It's them that ultimately make or break a powwow, for the most part. There were some really great specials and the dancers really put up a good competition. The weather was mild, and it was not unbearably...
