First off *edited name* i have known you and your mother Whom I respect greatly but you have always had a deep resentment against anyone who is NDN. I have had the misfortune of listening to you go on and on about how much more NDN other folks are more than you. I have found you to be a very biggoted person. I don't think we need to go into all the insults and disrepectful things you have said about the Lumbee and other MIXED bloods at the powwows here in NC.For someone who wants demands to be treated as native you have no idea of the concept of virtue. And having talked to your mother about this on many occasions I can't begin to tell you how embarrassed she is by your behavior. We have both seen and heard how you deny the whole other side of your ancestory. And not just your mom but the other folks in your family too. None of us forget that before you claimed this NDN heritage you were Muslim, remember?
It is not my intention to ridicule you here but *edited name* maybe you should wake up and realize no one down here is fooled.
As for your snipe about full bloods you do your best to butter up to them ,do you think this makes you more accepted to everyone?
If you would just be yourself then maybe you would find you are accepted. I'm only saying these things here because many folks have tried to get you to listen to us about the way you treat and talk about just about everyone down here, to absolutely no avail. You only seem to listen if whats being said to you enhances your NDN image. I really do pity you *edited name* because I KNOW from knowing you these past yaers that there is a good spirit within you. I hope you can accept these things as coming from concern for you *edited name* before you find yourself person non-grata down here in the S.E.
It really hope you can find some humbleness to look within and get over this immature behavior of yours.

Billy Joe Jimbob, you have obviously not been to the east coast! You would not believe how many "full bloods" who have that Holier than thou attitude.

I know this is a hard subject,especally because I myself walk in these shoes.

Besides all that I do go through, one of my pet pives is the fact that mixed white girls are better accepted as having indian ancestry. I was told that it's becasue some of the "indian community" find it hard to believe that full bloods would mix with Africans. I hate to be negitive but it is true. I can't say everywhere, but it is alive and well in the south. Everytime I go to a powwow, I want to have a small history lesson, lets say between 1800 and 1830ish?

On the positive side, what makes all of what I endure worth while is the feeling that I get when I hear those drums! The feeling when I dance in time with the drum feels so good that nothing else matters.The good feeling I have when I sing these old songs that I hope some of my ansestors where able to sing.
Yes, it makes the hurt and pain worth it, if not just for a while. This is the road that I'm walking ,and I thank God for the opportunity to pass our culture along to my children ,and other young ones like me as well. I hope that God keeps me strong enough so I can maybe make this road easier to walk for them.

First of all I want to say hello to everyone, I am new here and I feel very happy to see the actvity taking place. I am however disturbed by the "Black Indians" Post. We do not think we are holier than you as you stated *edited name*, we think that you need to chill out and stop acting like you are more Indian than the bloods. to me the only kind of people I know that act this way are want-to-be's. It is okay to walk the red road, so to speak, as long as you respect the people. This has been our issue for many centuries. Everything has been taken from the people and now they want to take our identities. THIS DOES NOT PLEASE ME!!!!!
