This Powwow is a "Must Attend" for everyone. It is being held on the weekend of Sept. 23 & 24. Sept 22 is "Native American Day" in Ohio declaired by the former Governer Rhodes from Ohio. No one in Ohio seems to know about Native American Day because no one pushes it. I just sits quietly on the Ohio books.
It's time to push "NATIVE AMERICAN DAY" in Ohio. What better way to push it is to have a POWWOW!!!!! The Crying Eagle Village Powwow is being held right in the city of Youngstown, Ohio just off Interstate 80. The powwow is located right next to the Four Seasons Flea Market. This is one of the larger indoor/outdoor flea markets in the state. The flea market has donated the land for the powwow along with good parking for cars and motorhomes. There is lots of space for all. Free parking and Free Camping for all who stay the weekend.
The host Drum is Thunder Nation. There are the same guys that put on Spirit of the Bison Powwow in Austinburg, Ohio every year. The drum "ROCKS"
Wolf Creek Singers will also be there with their woodland style song. Can't wait to hear the drum again!
Another Drum that will be there is our own RedShield Singers from powwows.com. You all know that they "Rock" too.
All Nations Drum is coming as well. Man do they have a cool style of song for the dancers. Very smooth.
I also heard a rumor of another drum coming from PA. called "Sweet Thunder". From what I understand, this drum has a great sound. I have not heard them yet, but I am told that they are quite good. I'm not sure what style they are but I'm looking forward to hearing them.
What a great way to spend the weekend this fall. We can celebrate "Native American Day" here in Ohio and let the world know about it. On top of that we can dance all weekend to the best drums in the Ohio area. What a treat this powwow is going to be!!!!!
