aye_how_er_007 (Jeff Walsh) where are you?? Here is the story:

I make a decent drumstick... for me; but was looking for a "professional looking" set of sticks for a new drum. I browsed the gallery and found pics of sticks made by aye_how_er_007. I read his posts about his sticks boasting some big drums as customers. In his emails he talked about customers such as "Starblanket Jrs., Redstone Ojibway, Eastern Eagle, Wildhorse...oh yeah, and he sings with Bigstone Singers". After a few emails and a couple of telephone calls, I was pretty confident and was ready to make a deal. I had even seen and used a set of his sticks, so yeah I was really confident about this deal. $300.00 for a set of 12 sticks with a 2-3 week delivery date. His guarantee... I would not dissappointed.

So when I was ready to place my order, we talked on the telephone. I wired the money to him on 2/1/07. As per our telephone conversation he had the sticks ready all he needed was to put the heads on and would have have them out, no problem. I waited... 2/7/07 he said that he had left his leather at another location and was in the process of getting more leather and promised to have them completed over the weekend and that I should expect an email or telephone call on Mon. or Tues. (2/13) with the UPS tracking number. Well, Tuesday came and went with no contact. I started calling and emailing seeking status on my order. The last time we actually talked (2/18), he claimed that the sticks had been mailed out the previous Thurs. by FedEx instead of UPS. When asked for the tracking number it "sounded" like he was looking through papers for the number. Fact: You can check a FedEx shipment without a tracking number. FedEx has no records of a shipment to my address.

I have tried many many times since to contact Jeff Walsh by telephone, email and instant messaging. It is as if he has fallen off the face of the earth. I understand that circumstances can arise that will change even the best laid plans. But, to be promised several delivery dates and even a "shipped date"...yet he has my money and I have no sticks.

I saw a thread by 50 cal (ripped off), I can relate!!

Since I was a kid i've heard similar stories....Its frustrating...Some will say don't post stuff like this....I'm all for it....Plaster it right across the good ole wall....People who make promises and belabor the process and duck and dive need to have their names put up in lights...Shame em right out...It's weak! Ennit N-Town! Wongeh! (I should practice what I preach! There coming there coming!!!)

Believe me, a thread like this is the last thing I wanted to post. It was hard to click that submit button, but facts are facts. I have all documents of the "contract" to support the facts. I was hoping that someone who knows this person might tell him, he contact me and things would get back on track. I would rather be posting how well I like the sticks but... I cannot endorse what I do not have.

Not to take away from the validity of your concern, but it hasn't even been a month since you wired the money, no? With a three week delivery promise then that means, as of today, he is a week behind. I think that it's a little premature to be plastering his name over the Internet.

If it had been months, then I can see your concern. I know Jeff, and am certain he wouldn't intentionally rip anyone off. His passion for singing and drumming prohibits him from doing so.

It's not the length of time? It's the very fact that someone makes promise after promise.....They don't come thru and then drop out of sight? That's the point...Thats weak!

not to minimize anyone getting ripped off, but in all fairness the other side of the coin isnt always any easier. i had one guy claim he didnt get a flute i shipped him, so just trying to keep the client happy sent him another. he claimed he didnt get that one either.
another guy claimed he sent funds that i never got and then got ticked that i wouldnt ship the flute any way just on faith that the MO was on its way (his words not mine)

then theres anther guy that the international native american flute association has been tracking for a few years who also tried to get me too.

it would be nice if every transaction would go well and honorably, but thats just not reality

The fact that he had a tracking # but then changed shipping companies is a little hairy.

Shoot, if you just need more time to finish, take it, I dont care, just dont make up stories.

I had a run in with somone on this board a few years back who supposedly mailed back some things i loaned him, i still havent gotten them.

He did some bad things to other people also, i hear possibly even jailtime for it, yet he is back here still.

Just goes to show no matter how nice someone is, they can do shatty things to you. Sometimes it is an accident, sometimes intentional.

I had a similar problem maybe 5 years ago with a woman from this board. She was going to make me some moccasins and I sent her half the money, think it was about $150 or 200. Then the excuses started, and then she said she'd have her friend finish them. Later, she told me her friend pawned my moccasins! Luckily she did return my money after a long time. I hope that your drum stick situation works out, since I know how frustrating it is to be lied to!

Had he left it at 2-3 weeks and this happened, I would not have posted this until next month sometime. He promised a delivery date twice. He even told me outright that he had shipped them. When asked for the FedEx tracking number, I could hear him fumbling with papers in the background (looking for the number). He was supposed to call me back with the number. NO CALL!! As I said, you can track a shipment using the delivery address. FedEx has no record. If it waddles like a duck, quacks like a duck, even looks like a duck...
