DUH!!! Who do you think is a part of Ryan Rumley's crew??? None other than skybird! Anyway, these people are just learning how to do tabulations, yes there is gonna be mistakes made, that's how we learn...from our mistakes. Now it might take a few years......I don't think anybody has learned this stuff over night or from a 1 time deal and since these people only have their powwow once a year, go figure! But it took a few years for that other crew to learn also, they didn't have things perfected the first 3-4-5 times, they still don't!! And if you dancers know that this has happened in the past and have complained, then why do you continue to show up??? Because of the money.....not because of the love of dancing but because you want to win....and I know of SOME that start whining around the minute they are not in the top 2!! Everybody knows who they are.....it's a given with them at these powwows. Those are the complainers....get a grip people. Let these people learn and don't fault them for mistakes that are made. If you can't handle losing.......don't go! Remember that this tribe doesn't have to have this powwow at all OR put out all that prize money...........especially for a bunch of ungrateful morons!

No secret about Skybird... But year after year there have been problems with the tabulations at this pow wow is it imcompetence fraud whatever. The point you are missing is "get some competent honest help!" Rumley and Crew (are human and have made human errors, that they are quick to review and fix) The Denver March crew, me just someone that knows what they are doing. People invest lots of $ to travel.

I know that the Sycuan People want the best for their guests (I attended their First Pow wow and for several years after) they are extremely hospitable.

But why not get someone in there that can get it right the first time around, they do waste money paying for the errors. etc

Next time I'm tabulating i w ant to be ware of these people your talkin about. who are these greedy complainers when they don't get 1st or 2nd? since everyone knows but me. So i'll be prepared for what i'm dealing with when they check my books. And who's the family that runs this powwow for years? Put soem names to these morons. Your ballz are only goin so far.

Its not even about the contestants complaining.

The Sycuan pow-wow committee admitted of their own accord that they had faulty tabulations. The dance contestants are all wondering who is affected.

Whats with all you indians pointing fingers back at contestants and calling everyone greedy/whiny.

If they admitted to it, why can't we as contestants be curious if our standing changed?

Ok....here's the thing I don't get....why is everyone so concerned about this? Is everyone a part of some powwow association, like the NCAA, where if you place, it gets added to elevate your standings for the year? If you got paid, you got paid...next powwow, someone's going to do some dumbazz shyt to outdo this one....I been here quite a few times, I stopped going because it was BS....I feel the same with pechanga as well....all I'm saying is get over it, you got screwed, life goes on....no amount of bytching about who did what to who, when, how or why is going to change that.....

Well, I wasn't there either, but I'm going to add my two cents

I happen to agree wholeheartedly with superndngyrl...if people won and are owed money, it's not greedy or childish for them to try to collect. If you were shorted hours on your paycheck, you'd sure complain to the HR department or whoever to get that straightened out wouldn't you? If the IRS shorted you, you'd certainly call them. So, why can't pow wow people do the same?

I SOOOOOO agree w/ the post above!! Hey!! & I just called back for my 3rd time this week & I got 3rd!! Woo-hoo!! =)
She said for all complainers to lighten up....but however, I suggest that maybe next year they get together & come up w/ a point system that will work & teach people from the casino about correct tabulating. That or yeah....just get ryan rumley's crew!! *lol* j/k!!!! =P

I look at it this way. If my name wasn't called as a winner at the powwow, well.......I guess I didn't win!!! I'm not gonna complain or whine around about how I was cheated, they didn't tabulate right....blah blah blah. I just didn't win. Now if I find out that something went wrong with the tabulations, am I gonna keep calling and calling to try to find out if I really did win? NO. That's just showing no class. I figure if I did win SOMEONE from the committee will notify me or send me a check at some point, after all they have all my information, so if I don't get either then I guess I didn't win! Oh well!! I'm not so vain, as some are, to think that I was one of the best dancers there so I should've won something and if I didn't then I'm gonna cry around about it. That's just the chance you take when you travel to these powwows. Don't count your chickens before they hatch!
