  • What was your favorite pow-wow of 2007?

I know everyone has there favorite pow-wow where you just had a blast, dancing, singing or just having fun with friends & relatives.

I would have to say mine was Mahnito Ahbee Pow-Wow in Winnipeg. It was an all around good weekend.

I didn't go to as many powwows as I have in the past, but my favorite this year was Prairie Island, MN in July. It was as fun as it used to be back in the day...lol. My whole family, plus adopted family members were there, good singing, tough comp....lots of fun.

NMAI Powwow in DC was a close second, but nuthin can beat a good Sioux powwow, hehe.

                Runner up powwows were:
Sisseton, SD 4th of July Celebration - was a really nice powwow but the looooooong tabulating time knocked it down a peg.
Mt. Pleasant, MI - woulda been number 1 if I hadn't broke my foot there...lol.
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor - I hadn't been back in about 15 years and it was nice to see all the peeps back that way. The singing was exceptional that weekend, and it was fun to be back in the Crysler arena.

We didn't go to Denver March, GON, or any of the fall California powwows, so that's the only reason they weren't on my list.

This is a tough one because I enjoy all the dances that my family can gather at. There are several, such as, Quapaw Tribeal Powwow, Sedalia MO-Robert Woolery Sr Powwow, Ottawa Tribal Celebration, Way South Powwow- McAllen TX, the smaller dances in KC MO area.

Schemitzun was fun, but I enjoyed the smaller, local powwows, craziness and all.

Copan was fun, but my favorite would have to be Mahakato Wacipi in MN.
I think everyone on this rez is addicted to Harry Potter...lol...
