scrubby looking drummers!

How many of you think that drum groups these days look like a bunch of scubs at powwows nowdays?

Yep, there are some out there that look like this or look like that, but that may be due to a financial situation that they are going through...then, there are the one's that have that certain odor on them that makes you wonder if they have a health issue or do they just choose not to clean themselves until an entire pow wow committee approaches them and says something about it...but, getting back to the thread, there are some drummers out there that do have a "scrubby" look to them, and it may be due to not having the monies to buy new threads & they just wear what they have. Atleast that's been my experience, I never had the money...

ya know...we are at the powwow to enjoy the songs they sing...I dont really notice too much about their appearance..

i remember there were some drummers back in a day, that were from rocky boy that when they set up their drume they dressed with beaded vests cuffs, arm bands and hats...they looked sharp.

OK ... fashion show aside .... what happened to pride in one's appearance? respect for their bodies to keep it clean ... at least. a bar of soap and some deodorant dont cost that much. and no covering up two days of stink with half a bottle of AXE dont cut it either LOL

and besides ... what self respecting drum wife would let her man show up all stank and dirty?!? LOL ... and we all know the ones dressed to the nines are jus out to snag anywayz jks.

Difference between "Drummers", "Hummers", and Singers......

If you look like your ready to go rope a calf and sound pretty rugged, well that should tell ya something....

If its 110 in the shade, well that too might imply something.....

Kind of ironic when folks "cowboy up" but don't have 1 iota of a clue.... how to get on a horse never mind caring for 1?

Now if you look rugged and sound rugged and even smell rugged, well should I continue?

*L* You nut. :P yeah I never really thought about a dude's appearance out at the drum. I just always thought about mine. I usually try to dress nice when I'm out at the drum, but that's just me. I try to show respect to the drum, my family, friends, singers, etc. But to each his own. Guys with tanks and shorts, guys with jeans and dress shirts. I love the dressed up guys but that doesn't make em a singer. Just makes em look good! *L*

What bugs the heck outta me are those that come to the drum buzzed up or high and sing around the drum more than anything. Man that peeves me. THAT to me is the total disrespect.

at last year's Schemtizun, one of the MC's commented on some of the drummers clothing. i think there are some pow wows where they have prizes for the best dressed drummers.
