    MTS Centre, Downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba

    *THIS YEAR WE ARE DEDICATING THE POW WOW TOWARDS THE YOUTH. IT IS THE REASON WHY THE PRIZE MONEY WAS INCREASED FOR THEM, SPECIALS, AND EXTRAS PLANNED. IN ORDER TO FIT IT ALL INTO THE SCHEDULE AND BE DONE AT A CERTAIN TIME, WE HAD TO CUT DOWN THE ADULT CATEGORY INTO ONE RATHER THAN TWO LIKE FIRST ADVERTISED & LAST YEAR'S FORMAT.*

    Grand Entries:
    November 8 - Noon & 7 PM
    November 9 - Noon only

    Daily Admission: $12.00
    Children 5 years & Under: Free

    Free Registration for Dancers & Singers
    2nd Level, MTS Centre (by the escalator)
    Registration Times:
    Friday, November 7, 10 AM to 7 PM
    Saturday, November 8, 9 AM to 1 PM (after 1st Grand Entry)
    Pre-registration is available. You must pick up your contest number before closing. We cannot issue numbers afterward.

    No Hand Drum Contest

    *The first 300 Junior & Teen dancers that participate in the Opening Sequence of the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards, Friday, November 7th, receives a free set (Saturday & Sunday) tickets to the pow wow. You can pre-register online at www.manitoahbee.com, or go to the Registration Table on Friday, November 7 before Closing*

    Saturday, November 8, 8 PM - 11 PM, Manito Ahbee Youth Dance takes place at The Exchange Restaurant (downstairs of MTS Centre). Free admission. DJ Music provided.

    Miss Manito Ahbee Princess Pageant in Honour of Felicia Solomon
    For Teen Girls (13 - 17 yrs old). Crowning takes place on Saturday, November 8, 2008. Please go to our website for application form and criteria. Forms will be accepted during regular Registration times at the MTS Centre.

      i got a silver buffalo pin with manitoba on it from this pw... haha this week i been wearing it cause i cant be there.

      alot of people ask about the pin!

        Be look out for Lynx Clan Drum Group at the MTS this weekend and also The Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards will be broadcast live on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network and Bell Express Vu. look for on there too.
        Boozhoo People, I got a name for my Drum now It called LynxSoldier alot people like that name here in my Area and other rez around Area.

          Be sure to check out the sounds of Southern Outlawz (One of the host drums this year)... All the way from the Navajo Nation. Them boys n girls can jam.

          Can't wait to see all them youtube videos...."coughs"...I mean them videos posted on powwows.com's pow wow tv....lol

          an oh...if anyone is cool with them MC's....if ya could print and hand a copy of the 2009 UNITY Pow Wow Flier to one of them to announce that would be cool....

                        better hurry, grand entry is tomorrow at noon. Drive rest of the day & all night. lol You'll need about 5 bottles of 5-Hour Energy.

                              Well be careful when you drive. I'll worry about you if you get hurt. If you are coming from the Dakotas I heard they had a snowstorm.
                              You know we drove in snow all of the time. But here in VA they can't drive it. I grew up with snowstorms, driving my Dad, and going along the woods with snow loaded on them. Usually the snowplows would plow the highways we were on. Be careful.
