I also heard that there was going to be a southern special too. I am not too sure if it is for mens or womens. But, I will get more info on that and post as soon as i find out.

Ok just seen the poster/flyer for the powwow and theres no specials listed from the rocky boy community, so....heres some:

Teen and Womens southern buckskin/cloth special in Honor of Chenaya Standing Rock sponsored by her family

Mens Southern Straight in 18+ in honor of Douglas Standing Rock and Mike Mithlo, Sponsored by their family

          That is the question.

          Do points start on Thursday?

One of the events committee memebers confirmed that points did start on Thursday. Hopefully they will change it, because the youth powwow usually happens on Thursday.

Yes there is ONE committee singing contest and 2 head singing judges, the poster reads:
                1st 8000
                2nd 6000
                3rd 4000
                4th 2000

As I mentioned before, there is also the Memorial Singing Contest for Chief StandingRock. If it is allowed by the Powwow committee, I'm pretty sure the memorial contest will be judged same time as the Powwow committee singing contest, with a different set of judges, you know just to save time. I hope theres plenty of drums that show up for both singing contests!
