    Muckleshoot Powwow Grounds
    Auburn, WA

    Adults $1200-$1000-$800-$600-$400
    Teens $500-$400-$300-$200-$100
    Juniors $275-$250-$200-$175

    Drum Contest $8000-$6000-$4000-$2000-$1000
    Specials: Men's Prairie Chicken, Women's High Step, Couple's Dance, 1 Man Hand Drum $1200-$1000-$800-$600-$400

    Host Drums: Midnite Express and Thunder Hill
    1st 20 non-contest drums paid per session

    Grand Entry starts on Friday at 7:00 pm

      I wuz listenin' from the car so I may have gotten this wrong but I think it went:
      1. Cree Confederation
      2. Blacklodge
      3. Wildrose
      4. Pipestone
      5. Indian Nation

      One Man Hand Drum:
      1. Algin Scabbyrobe
      2. Opie Day
      3. Sonny Eaglespeaker
      4. Dana Goule (sp?)
      5. Tanisha Begay

      Prairie Chiggen:
      1. Rooster Topsky
      2. Guy Fox

      Men's Tradish:
      1. Ardell Scalplock
      2. Alvin Yellow Owl
      3. Russel McLoud
      4. Justus Cree
      5. Sheldon Shebala

      Men's Grass:
      1. Kelsey Haywahe
      3. Ronnie Kicking Woman, maybe
      4. Rooster Topsky
      5. Al Retasket, Jr.

      Men's Fancy:

      couldn't hear very well

      Couple's Dance:
      1. Russel & Thea McLoud

                I'll start out by saying the usual things were good about this powwow: the drums and the dancers. It's them that ultimately make or break a powwow, for the most part. There were some really great specials and the dancers really put up a good competition. The weather was mild, and it was not unbearably...
