Thinking about the powwow people you admire, do they look better in their powwow outfits, their street cloths or both?

crap, I was at a dance this spring, and a guy walked up to me and just stared at me while I took off my dance stuff. I was thinking, who is this guy. After a couple of minutes he just leaves. About 10 minutes later I see some people and ask them if one of their relatives is there, turns out that was the giuy staring at me. I didn't recognize him without his dance clothes on. Who knew I was taller than him? I was totally embarassed, and still am.

haha .... was just reminded about my sister ... she was really liking it for this one traditional dancer at a pow wow. she said he looked like "god dayum" in his regalia .... and she was too shy to actually go talk to him so she admired from afar.
so she decides to wait until they call winners ... just to see what his name was and how he looked with his clothes off.... so they call his name and she's all anxiously waiting for him to come out.
dang if he doesn't come walking up .... lookin like he crawled out from under a bleacher that he was passed out under all wknd... he was dressed in some ol raggy clothes and was draped in one of those old serape blankets. his hair was out of the braids ... and there was even GRASS in his hair and all over the blanket
needless to say .... she got over that crush ASAPWatch your broken dreams...

...And shephards we shall be. For thee my lord, for thee. Power hath descended forth from thy hand. That our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to thee. And teeming with souls shall it ever be. E Nomini Patri, E Fili, E Spiritu Sancti.

At RE, a while back, I seen this group of gal dancers come out for a break in their outfits, they looked nice, a while later, for the supper break, I seen them come out again in their civvies. The were all dressed alike, all dressed like Holly Golightly, headed for Bricktown, they looked nice. So, I guess the answer is both. (Golightly is A. Hepburn, in Breakfast at Tiffany's) http://g-ec2.images-amazon.com/images/I/41EMRRHE5VL.jpg

Both ..
There are alot of items on regalia that are very special and important and so as not to cause dammage to these items would be my reason for not wearing them for everyday use, although I know a gal who has lots of NDN clothing she has designed for herself thats really keul looking.. I love sewing and have made some things of my own ..
half to admitt that pow wow clothes are really awesome

Ok, file this one under the powwow complaint forum...
I just started at a new college, whose name I won't mention (Indiana University, Bloomington). Last Friday we had the first meeting of the First Nations at IU club. When it came time to discuss a powwow, which I was ALL about, people...-

by NezbahHire Head Staff that haven't even been introduced to the circle yet or even hire your own family members?
I dunno, I was raised ole style, and had to be introduced to the circle before I could even dance in regalia. Nowadays, I see so many people who just 'throw' on some regalia, wear...-

by marichriaddiThe powwow trail as I know it
I can’t exactly explain why I like to powwow so much. Call it an addiction I’m a fiend for, as I search for the next biggest and best powwow to hit. Call it an itch I can’t scratch, no matter how hard I try. Powwows are like the boyfriend I may...-

by CelenaI'll start out by saying the usual things were good about this powwow: the drums and the dancers. It's them that ultimately make or break a powwow, for the most part. There were some really great specials and the dancers really put up a good competition. The weather was mild, and it was not unbearably...
