Hey Everyone, (For those of you who have booked already or live here or near ABQ, please pass this on to your friends or family who may be coming into town)
Wow, I can't believe that GON is around the corner. Which also means the deadline to book your special rooms is around the corner too! As a reminder, the final date to book rooms is April 7th. Don't forget that date because the room rates are only valid until that date. Please also remember this year the agency fee is only 15.00 so your card will only be charged that amount. When you check-in the hotel will need a card but you may pay cash at the termination of your stay.
The Towneplace Suites: 2 bedroom suites $119.00 per night plus tax - I have only 5 left!! So please hurry and confirm your reservations.
Queen suites with pull out sofa to a double bed $99.00 per night plus tax - 10 rooms left
The Fairfield Inn: Double Double bedded rooms $104.00 per night plus tax - There are 24 left now. These do not have full size kitchens.
We will be present at GON this year. Come by and see us at the 'Information' booth at the main entrance. Say 'hi' and see all the new additions the Gathering of Nations Information booth has too offer. This will be a new thing for the Committee and designed to help the Public to answer questions or help guide you, the attendee, with any information you seek. I will also have my laptop with me for quicker access.
The weather has been really crazy at the moment. We have seen upper 60's down to lower 30's, snow, rain, thunder, and cold temperatures at this time of year. So please come prepared in case the weather decides to change. In the past years, the late nights have been pretty cold and windy, so definitely bring your cold weather gear. Do not bring Canopy's or your powwow chairs, there will be plenty of seating around the arena. As a reminder, the powwow will be at the Football Field across the street from the 'Pit'. Go to Gathering of Nations | Native American Powwow to get more information about the Powwow, Stage 49, Indian Traders Market, and of course Powwow Alley. The website is being updated constantly so don't forget to check for the updates.
