      Table Mountain Rancheria presents the 13th Annual Pow-Wow, honoring U. S. Native Troops. Come out and enjoy the Central Valley's Leading Pow Wow that begins at 7 pm on Friday, June 7th with the Grand Entry. Saturday & Sunday. the 8th & 9th, the Pow Wow beings at noon.

      All set in the natural beauty of the Friant foothills, the Table Mountain Rancheria Pow-
      Wow features a drum contest, dance competitions and amazing pageantry splendor. Enjoy a large selection of food, jewelry, and arts and crafts booths. The public is invited to attend. This event is free. Please, no pets, drugs or alcohol.

                      My work schedule conflicted with Pechanga Powwow this year. Missed Friday, and most of Saturday.

                      Saturday at Pechanga was HOT. The whole western USA was under a heat wave that weekend.

                      Sunday at Pechanga I finally got into my video filming, and managed about 100 decent photos also.

                            MOORPARK COLLEGE July 19 to 21, 2013



                            The Children of Many Colors Powwow is held the third weekend in July at Moorpark College in Ventura County, California. The powwow for 2013 is July 19th - 21st.

                            a coloring book about powwows by Corina Roberts.

                            On Friday evening we host an Open Flute Circle. All flute players are welcome, regardless of tribal affiliation or the lack of it.

                            On Saturday the first of three Gourd Dance sessions begins at 11 AM, followed by Grand Entry when all the dancers enter the arena together and the powwow begins. Dancing continues until 10 PM Saturday evening and resumes on Sunday morning with a Veteran's Honoring at 11 AM during the final Gourd Dance session.

                            Everyone is welcome to attend the powwow. This is an outdoor, family-friendly event. A $2.00 per vehicle donation is suggested. Shade canopies and chairs are welcome.                               Moorpark College is located at 7075 Campus Road. The powwow takes place on the practice football field. Exit the 118 or 23 freeways at Collins Drive, turn north, turn right within a quarter mile onto Campus Road and turn left into the first parking lot. The powwow grounds are adjacent to the parking lot. The powwow is a family event held on a college campus. No drugs, alcohol or firearms are allowed on the powwow grounds or anywhere on the campus.

                              Here is the schedule (Indian Time applies) for the powwow:

                              Friday July 19 2013

                              7 AM - Noon Powwow Grounds Set-Up (volunteers welcome) including canopy placement on arena

                              Noon - Vendors can start setting up, dancers can continue to set up

                              6 PM - Potluck and Open Flute Circle

                              10 PM - sound system off


                              Saturday July 20, 2013

                              11 AM Open Gourd Dance

                              12 PM(ish) Princess Crowning, followed by Grand Entry

                              12 PM - 10 PM Intertribal Powwow

                              1 PM (ish), 4 PM (ish) Stroytelling with Alan Salazar

                              2 PM (ish) Prayer for the Children with Margaret Morin

                              5 PM (ish) Dinner Break, Flute performance by Mac Lopez

                              6 PM Open Gourd Dance

                              7 - 10 PM Intertribal Powwow (possibly including Iron Man and Iron Woman contest, as of yet unconfirmed)

                              10 PM - (possibly sooner, we have no lighting system this year) Retreat The Colors, sound system off


                              Sunday July 21, 2013

                              11 AM Veteran's Honoring as a part of the the third and final OPen Gourd Dance ceremony

                              12 PM Grand Entry

                              12 PM -6 PM Intertribal Powwow

                              2 PM Stroytelling with Randall Hogue

                              5 PM Raffles

                              6 PM Final Retreat of Colors

                              6 PM - 9 PM Tear Down, Clean Up
