  • Pawnee Picture Identification

I am on the Board of Directors for the Platte County Nebraska Historical Society. I have been requested to identify several Pawnees that are on a local Mural that is located in a historic house in Columbus Nebraska. Although I have been successful on most of the images two are evading my research. The two images are attached. If anyone can assist me in this search I would be very appreciative.
OOPS! I can't attach a picture from my computer. whenever I click on "Insert Image" it asks for a URL of the image. Sorry but I don't know how to attach my file using a URL. I tried click and drag without success. I'm not attaching from a web page but my computer file. Help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi JayJayFKay,

    Welcome to powwows.com!

Instead of using the "Insert Image" icon, try using/clicking on the Paperclip icon for attachments.

This should bring up another window where you can browse files/pictures that you have stored on your pc/mobile device. Then you can upload them.

    Hope this helps!

When you click to reply choose the option below the text box called "Go Advanced". It will take you to a more featured reply page. Below the text box and below the Submit and Preview buttons there is a section that has some "Additional Options". In that section there is an option called "Manage Attachments". When you click on that it will bring a Pop Up page that allows you to upload a file. After you upload a file you can then use the "Paper Clip" item in the text box to insert the attachment.

                        Thanks!

Thanks for your help on attaching the pictures and the rotation assistance. The first is a Pawnee Scout. I will give you a little information on my background. I am from Columbus Nebraska where Major Frank North who was the leader of the Pawnee Scouts also lived. Frank had a daughter by the name of Stella North. She was an only child and married Edwin Chambers. My mother was a maid and cook for Stella North Chambers. When my father died I was nine years old and my mother, my sister and I moved in with Stella. I am a big fan of the Pawnee Scouts and their bravery while serving in the Pawnee Scouts. I am doing research on this mural that I mentioned and the owner would very much like to identify as many of the images that he can on the mural so he can explain it when he gives tours. Most of the images are famous portraits and I have been able to identify but these two I am having trouble with. Any help that provided would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for the identifications and the link to the historic pictures. You definitely nailed "Rattlesnake" as the person in the one picture. I agree that the facial features of the other match Captain Jim. I shall look at the link tonight to see if I can find the photo that matches the mural picture since I think the mural just copied actual pictures that were available in 1971 when it was painted.
I appreciate your help so much.

Ok in a couple of posts Paul has mentioned "click through" as a way to make money for the site through the advertisers. How does this work? If i click on any of the links/ads does that count? Is it only if I buy something from...

I'm getting such good advice on my other thread that I thought I'd start a new one with two other questions I have.

I've seen any number of posts in various threads concerning spectators taking pictures at powwows. I would, for the most part, never take a picture of any INDIVIDUAL...
