  • 3rd Annual Osage Nation Sovereignty Day Celebration & Powwow

    The 3rd Annual Osage Nation Sovereignty Day Celebration will be held THIS WEDNESDAY March 11, 2009, at the Osage Nation Event Center in the North Tulsa Osage Million Dollar Elm.

    The doors will open at 1:30 p.m.
    Gourd Dances to start at 2 p.m.
    Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.
    second round of Gourd dancing at 6:30 p.m.

    Grand Entry will start at 7 p.m.
    followed by the State of the Nation address, then Pow Wow for the remainder of the evening.
    Host Drum -Soldier Creek (center drum only).

    Contests will consist of:

    *Men’s Straight (18-39) & (40 & up)

    *Women’s Cloth (18-39) & (40 & up)

    *Men’s Fancy(18-39) & (40 & up)

    * Youth Exhibition at 8:30 p.m.

    Cash prizes will be awarded for
    First Place ($300 all categories)
    Second Place ($200 all categories)
    Third Place ($100 all categories).

    All contestants must be registered and
    participate in Grand Entry.
