  • Saturday at Pechanga Powwow

Perfect weather, arena with manicured grass like a putting green, and the biggest fireworks display in Southern California.

Lots of people, the bleachers are tall, very high at the top, but remain full all day long.

The arena is packed tight with family canopies - four and five deep at places.

Sumbuddy needs to invent a combination of family canopies and bleachers for spectators. Fit the two together? Nah...looking at all the trash thrown down under the bleachers, would need a spill-proof barrier....hmmmm cancel that last million-dollar idea LOL

Nice to see Saginaw Grant out in the arena, still going strong.

I've always wanted to hit one of the Cali powwows -either this one or Morongo.

Yeah, the weather was so much cooler than last year. We really had a good time, the drums were amazing! On a darker note, did I hear right that Saginaw Grant's son died Thursday before the the Powwow?

My condolences to him, all his family, loved-ones, and friends. The prayer given by Saginaw on July 4th at Pechanga was respectful and serene.

The powwow trail as I know it

I can’t exactly explain why I like to powwow so much. Call it an addiction I’m a fiend for, as I search for the next biggest and best powwow to hit. Call it an itch I can’t scratch, no matter how hard I try. Powwows are like the boyfriend I may...
