The number and way smoke dancers wear their feathers depends on which of the 6- Nations they belong to. The Seneca wear a single eagle feather straight up, Cayugas wear a single eagle feather down to the back, Onandagas wear one straight up and one down , Oneida wear two up and one down and Mohawk wear three straight up.
