No passing!
Ladies should never pass each other on a round dance.
One pow wow I went to, there were so many ladies. All the ladies that were starting around the same area, asked each other how fast each did their round dance.... we had the slower ones go in toward the middle of the circle (including me), and the faster ones on the outside of the circle. It worked out pretty good for our "section"... no one passed each other. It is never too late to be what you might have been. ~ George Eliot

I deleted the last thread I had on this becuz we had to change the date...
Due to conflicts of events on reserve, we had to change the date of the Round Dance. It is now a day earlier on Friday November 19th instead of Saturday the 20th. Sorry for any confusion, hope to see you all there!...-

by peekabooI NOTICED AT DENVER MARCH THAT DURING THE ROUND DANCES SOME WOMEN ON THE DOWN BEATS STOPPED AND DID HALF CIRCLES WHILE BENDING OVER SLIGHTLY WHILE OTHERS JUST KEPT ON DANCING. IS THERE A DIFFERENCE OF WHY THAT WAS DONE OR IS IT JUST THEIR PREFERENCE? THEY ALL LOOKED NICE THOUGH EITHER WAY.

by LSSI recently noticed this was becoming more popular. What are your thoughts on Round Dances used for exhibition and contest. Do you have favorite songs? or love to dance to certain drums that sing these songs?
Not a woman,....so I'm looking for female input.-
