If you had a choice to go white or have a colored buckskin dress would you? And if so what color would you go?

any tips for doing white appliques on a red dress???? LOL...I'd love the dress to be washable without turning my appliques pink!

Do any of you know of a reputable skin dressmaker? I sew So. cloth, but want to give my daughter a skin dress for her birthday next year....
She'd like a Trad. So. buckskin that will be classy and timeless.
