Who else is Omaha & dances buckskin?
There is not a lot out there as far as I can find.
I found these old pictures and thought it was interesting.
I hear that a lot dance southern, but these old photos show northern type dresses. What do you think?

Hello Segnewe, I am part Omaha and dance buckskin, however I do dance Southern style. This is funny, as I have been researching as well on the traditional dresses of Omaha women and have also seen these historic pictures. I have also been told that Omaha can also dance Northern style, though I choose to dance Southern style as I have danced this style since I was a kid and more familiar with southern songs. My buckskin is not heavily adorned with beadwork. I use an applique shawl and my back drop is applique instead of a beadwork strip.
