    Cloth women at Knoxville

Well, I know Judy Gibson had first place and now I can't think of the other two ladies that took second and third.

But it was a great weekend, minus the cold and rain,
    great drums
    lots of dancing
    Well will wonders never cease.....

    Thanks Dawn,
And it was nice meeting you.

I'm trying to get all the results in from the Dance comps and will post them on powwows.com as soon as i do. (i've got the hoop and drum results but want to wait until i have the dance comps too).

It did rain a lot on Friday & Saturday, but Sunday's clear skies saved us.

The dancing, drum, hoop and tipi competitions were not affected at all though. They went on as planned, under roof.
    DANCING IS EVERYTHING!!!!

I love my tipi's. I'll never be homeless with them.

        Dawn,
Was it your son's feathers that were reported missing?

If so, it's my understanding that they had been put into his friend's vehicle by mistake and he forgot that he had done that.

At least that's the last word that i had heard.

            Dancing with a injury
            by WhoMe
There are times when some of us choose to dance through an injury. Have you ever "had to dance" with an injury?

Some of these times include when we have an obligation to fulfill, when we are at the tail end of a dance contest or when we are performing and don't want to let...

The grounds were lovely, the building was great. The Drum was awsum, the dancers except for a tiny handful were traditional in dress and dance. The lack of dancers was a shame, the program was not adhered to. Supposed to have been dancing and etc all day. Nothing got going til 1pm, the drum was sitting...

            by crazywolf
            Boozhoo niji,

OK so I was at this little gathering here in Florida called Chasco festival. It is mostly a fair, witt midway rides and whatnot, but back in a little corner is where the NDNs would sing and dance, along with a handful of vendors. This gathering was kinda special for me...

            Boozhoo niji,

I just remembered something that happened at a pow wow a couple weeks ago. I would like your thoughts, wisdom and opinions on this please. Its a bit of a story so bear with me.

This pow wow was non-competition, everyone was supposed to be having fun, no...

            Gourd Dancing in the Heat...
            by Josiah
I have Gourd Danced all over Oklahoma and other places pretty much year round for a long time. During the months of July and August here in Oklahoma it can be fairly hot to put it mildly.
Well this weekend in Bell Oklahoma I experienced something that I had not since I was in High School and...
