I wear both too, but really it depends if it is really hot down here, that's when I wear just a choker.

i sometimes wear a scarf, use to wear a small chocker,
but mostly wear necklaces due to high collars on my dress

It depends on the tribe. My daughter wears a scarf, she is Otoe. Many of her friends, Shawnee, Creek, Kiowa, Ponca, Osage do not -- not part of their traditional clothes.

Most all wear a choker but not necessarily the scarf. Again - depends on tribal clothing style

Are you talking about a beaded choker or a bone choker? For what dance style? Wouldn't it depend on what's traditional for your tribe? Your outfit tells others what tribe you are.

My wife doesn't wear a scarf but our daughters started wearing scarfs because some of their friends were. Normally the girls(our daughters) don't wear scarfs just a drop down their back from the choker. The Idea is whether it is adopted for looks or not anymore. My Mom has Buckskin and Cloth and usually doesn't wear a scarf, though sometimes she will.

But only because I haven't made a choker yet, (I have all the peices and parts, just haven't sat down and decided on design) and haven't found a scarf that caught my eye ( my daughter flat out refuses to allow me to wear neon pink:D ) (don't worry I wouldn't, just like to pull her chain!):Angel:
