  • Curtain weights

I knew this lady that sewed curtain weights to the inside of her shawl for the swing effect. I also heard of them being used in buckskin dresses. Do you think that's cheating?

I agree - it's all in the knees. If you gotta use weights - you are cheatin!

            Just my two cents!

to be honest..i have no idea how that would make your fringe swing more!

hey it might give you some arm muscles!
BUT I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!

Hmm.. sounds kindy.. odd. Why not keep dancing until you can sway your fringe just right??

                      weights, bells, soon whistles???

The sway is all in the way you dance.........adding weights is WEAK! I can't believe someone would actually do that. What looks really tacky are those women who swing thier arm just to get the swaying effect, that looks really bad!!!

As for bells, we were always taught that women don't use bells on thier outfits, my Kauly told me that they use to put bells on the "lose" women to keep track of em cuz they were always "runnin' around" where they shouldn't be. But that's just the way i was taught, of course other tribes have other teachings.
