Hey Okwataga, glad to see you and hope you had a good holiday.

Our mutual relation was here with his family and we had a great time. Um I kind of shot him with whip cream. I didn't mean it, I had a defective nozzle so he said that I could bribe him with a whole pumpkin pie so that he doesn't get me back. Well, after I agreed, he changed his mind and took the pie and is plotting his revenge.LOL

Oh I know, if he hadn't have moved a little to the right, I would have shot him right between the eyes with the Whip Cream. I was laughing so hard I had tears rolling down my face. But I did accidentally get one of the twins first.LOL

So now he's gonna get the two brother's that we know (the one who's an AD) and one of our cousins to pull something on me at a pow wow to embarrass me like crazy. I think I'm gonna go into hiding for a while.LMAO

The Christmas Holiday is okay, not too bad.

I am looking forward to New Year Eve at home drinking my sparkling wine and watch the ball going up to the top on T.V. to make the mark for the 2009. Also there will be a Powwow for New Year Eve in Wikemekong (short for Wiky) on Manitoulin Island. But then I will be going to bed and then be ready to go to the Powwow at the complex on New Year Day.

I will be watching and do some traditional dancing (no costume) during the afternoon and will have a feast after the Powwow in the evening. Everything will be cool.

On the plus side, I lost two pounds, but I wouldn't recommend that method of weight loss to anyone.

Sorry to hear about your illness Neling. I hope that you are getting better.

According to my scale I've gained some weight back over the holidays, but according to my pants, I haven't so I'm happy about that.LOL

I hope that everyone had a safe new years eve. I had a very quiet one. My son came over fairly late with his g/f and we watched the fireworks from my front porch and then we ate and they went home. Now, I'm just up working more on my project.LOL I do it when I can.LOL

No I haven't gotten my paper yet.

I didn't get the one from last week or this week, was there one both weeks or just one for both weeks? I'm dying to see it too.

There's a couple of people there who have been getting the paper the last two weeks too to see it as well.

                          Question regarding female body paint

I have been looking at some of the pictures of Tsalagi women in the 18th century. I noticed that they parted their hair in the middle and painted the part red. What is the significance of this?

Also noted that some woodland pictures showed flap leggings. I also noted that some of the leggings had a slit in the front to show the front and top of the moccasins.

I made my moccasins closed but was told by an Iroquois elder that I should make a slit in front center of my leggings to show my moccasins. Which would be traditionally and historically correct for Tsalagi women?

Okwataga, well I went down to our relatives house today and went shopping with the babies and their momma. I got daring and bought a can of whip cream and he armed himself heavily.LMAO Okay, I know I was asking for trouble, but it was so much fun I just couldn't pass it up.LOL

I just got my paper today, it was the issue from the 17th, so so far I haven't gotten last week or this weeks edition yet. But I noticed--Dang I missed Thunder down Under at the Casino. Wow, I would have grabbed someone to go with me and had a good time.LMAO Well, anyway maybe the next time that they come there.LOL
