Ok, what about honor beats on a round dance contest? One lady raised her fan on the honor beats.
Any comments?

The only way that I have ever danced a Round dance is around the arena. I am a Southern dancer and that is how I dance either to a Northern or Southern round dance.
Not really understanding how you explained the other ladies dancing. To me sounds like you got it right.
If someone knows differently, please let me know as well?

The way that I learned it is that you dance side step around the arena. So I think you did it the right way. Just look at other people dance. Oh yes swing that fringe.

Reason I am asking, I recently danced competition at a pw the MC said, Round dance Northern, okay? Now, two of us danced side step on the side of the circle, and the other ladies danced the Southern style within the circle...see my confusion...
The first two songs were Southern to a southern drum, and the last one was to a Northern drum asking for a Round Dance...
Clear up my mass confusion here.... I feel like I did something wrong to side step on the side of the circle or is there a difference?

by KakeeyaI've been to a few powwows lately and have noticed that when the Women Southern traditional do their round dances, they have two very different styles of dancing. I have always seen the ladies dancing the slow graceful "walk" style and they bow their heads down. Lately I have been seeing...

by superndngyrlEverybody answer this, ok?
I have a question about how to dance round dance if you're southern cloth/buckskin.
Do you dip on the honor beats like you would if you're dancing a straight song? Do you dance on your toes like the northern ladies and barely take steps? ...-

Where are you from?
Do you dance No. or So. Cloth?
While dancing, what's your style?
Your contest has been called. You're getting 2 songs.
What style of songs are you hoping for?-
