    From southern tribes, born in the north

    I am of three (known) different southern tribes and I was born in wisconsin,all the pow wows I have attended have been up here or in the Chicago area. Even everyone who taught me has been like ojibway and stuff. Im about 2 goto my first southern pw in AZ. and I am pretty nervous about dancing, can any females from the south help me out. What is different from the north and the south and what should and shouldn't I do? :)

    Hey fellas I was just curious as to what u think about non-southern people dancin southern. I mean ive been adopted into a couple fams and they have mentioned me dancin southern in the future...but i'm not too sure. I've heard some folks REALLY hate that sorta thing...

    What exactly is the difference between Northern and Southern Cloth Dancing or Drums or anything? Is it the location in the United States as divided like the Mason/Dixon line? There must be more to it than that. If I live in Tennessee (southern state) and am Cherokee would I dance Northern or Southern...

    I am a northern traditional dancer, and did not know very much about southern categories.

    But I was watching a tape from Denver March ('99) and I had a chance to see a lot of southern cloth...
