i mainly practiced to a cd with all kinds of drum groups. the cd is called the world's best fancy songs. they have some pretty fast songs on there.but you can also dance to midnite express they have some fast songs on there too with some tricky stops. those are the songs i like to practice too. remember now practice makes perfect.

I USUALLY PRACTICE TO ANY ORIGANAL STYLE SONGS LIKE (MANDAREE, HIGH NOON, EAGLE WHISTLE, BATTLE RIVER..ETC..) THEY HAVE SOME GOOD FAST STRAIGHT OR TRICKY SONGS. BUT I ESPECIALLY LOVE MANDAREE'S CROW HOPS, MAKES ME WANNA CROW HOP ALL DAY..LOL! WELL YA, YOU GET MY POINT..LOL

        Trot Dance Songs

Here is a question for anyone who wants to chew on it... How does a person correctly dance the trot songs? Why are these songs done the way they are? Are there tribal differences? Have a good one and enjoy the holidays!

        Southern Style Dance/Song Forms
        by Niwiwan2005
To clarify for the youth on our drum, what are the types of songs/dances that a southern style drum will normally be asked to sing for? The following is what we've seen so far on our travels:

Inter-tribals, War Dances, Memorial Songs, War Mother Songs, Veteran Songs, Sneak-ups, Ruffle...

Does anyone know of any CDs out there composed of only songs for straight dancers? I would love to find this if I could.
