I would have to say prayer before you dance.center yourself get a to that happy place.if you shed tears let them be tears of happiness.most of all remember your family and your tribe.also remember be proud. Think of butterflies danceing.Life is what you make it.

I've come to you in a pursuit of knowledge, mainly about shawl dancing and the guide-line to stay as a respectful shawl dancer, instead of disrespected, so that I may know what to look for. Around here, spectators that come to powwows, both contest and non, like to take pictures of dancers, even though they often do not know any of us dancers. The MC is good as he tells the people exactally when it is appropriate to take pictures and this is enforced.
