    Do you know that your request sounds fishy? Are you an agent? A native should never ask for eagle plumes on the internet.

              May not be recommended but it is not unusual or illegal to buy, sell or trade feathers in Canada. Been done on here several times over the years, it has to be from canadian native to canadian native.

              You should cease your looking or bad medicine will fall upon you, lol.

                I was told that eagle feathers were never to be mentioned in the same breath with money. As for trade, then that's a different story.

                    She's right folks. People just don't do things the old way anymore. She gets the impression that everybody on this website is so tradish that they would just go out and give her some plumes (really nice ones). Don't believe it, PP.

                    Plumes are hard to get. Unless you have a family member or a friend who has acquired some plumes, you're not likely to receive some and not likely. from a stranger who also has family and friends with which to take care of.

                    Know what I'd do? Talk to people about your daughter. Tell them some good stuff. Kinda slip it into the conversation that she would like to get some plumes. It doesn't hurt to hint around. Sometimes people watch young'uns and if they have a good feeling about them, they'll give them something to help them along and encourage them. I've done this in the past and more'n likely I'll do it again.

                    I know she is going to get some somehow. Good luck.

                      Kiwehnzii is correct in his way of interpreting what should be done. It took many years for my younger sister to get plumes but we never advertised the need, she just danced until the plumes were handed to us out of their generosity. To this day, the person who gave us the plumes, we try our best to accomodate him in every aspect and more, much more.

                        only one of my girls has a nice set of plumes...given to her by "her uncle" when she was like two or three and she still has them - she's ten now. we are still waiting for our second, third, and fourth daughters - they dance without or just with some small "hang downs" - not sure of correct term for them. they don't dance all the time - just when they feel like it....the first post sounded kinda crazy to moi. but apology accepted...

                          QSW, I'm a guy. I didn't mean that I've advertised that someone I know doesn't have plumes. I meant that I've given them to deserving young ladies. I have to know them tho' and watch their behaviour.

                              Plumes

                              Hey Girl;

                              As for the plumes,I wouldnt worry about offending anybody. The key to our cultures survival is the ability to adapt to the years. SO... now a days a lot of the big named people on the trail are selling and trading too. Not to mention some of the big name drum groups have drug and alcohol issues. (wont give names) . So ... just be carefull about asking for feathers. You never know what kind of stuff comes with them. Advice; try asking some of your friends first, or their parents. Have you heard of fake plumes? Some people paint turkey or chicken feathers to look like eagle plumes. OR you can check out the local craft stores and ask for maribou plumes.. I used those when I got started. Well good luck in your search for plumes.
