    Beading material

When I bead on Canvas I preshrink the canvas in hot water and then almost dry. When I iron it out I iron on stabilizer. This helps keep the canvas from shifting during beading. If it is a large project, ie cape or leggings, i kind of quilt it with long stitch length on the sewing machine.
I had some bad experiences with felt. There are now 2 kinds, washable and nonwashable. Back 17 or so years ago there was only one kind, nonwashable. Fully beaded cuffs in floral design size 13 cuts. Cuffs were great until they got wet and then when they started to dry and the felt shrunk and the beads,,,sorry , sad day when that happened. Hard lesson learned. So now I am cautious with materials.

Hey both of the materials hold up well!!! I prefer canvas for hard wearing items and crib sheeting for the smaller items. Just my preference as a beader.

how does the crib sheet hold up on leggings? Seems that the rubberized material would get hot. Nothing like sweaty calves.
I haven't tried them on mocassins. Seems like there would be a little tearing from the stress of dancing.
