  • Dancing at powwows

I have wanted ot dance at Powwows since I was five. But back then I was way to shy to leave my mothers side neverless dance infront of alot of people. But now that I'm older I have started looking back into it. My parents are not as into my Native American backgrond and tradition as much as me and my 2 sister our. If it were not for my grandmother's teaching of the old ways, I would not even know I who I am and where I came from.My heart and soul has been into dancing ever since I was little. But unfortunately our Family has only attened powwows when they come to North Carolina (our home) . And I am unsure of how to go about becoming a dancer. I do not want to our triditions to die down with me I want to be able to pass them down to my children and my grandchildren. I really would apriciate any information avalible about this subject.

    Thanks-Dreamer
