Obviously, I am not a jingle dress dancer. But........ I believe in prayer and the good thoughts that could be conveyed through the person wearing the dress. I have occasionally gave asemaa to certain jingle dress dancers who I personally know who are of good minds to pray for people who are troubled in some way. Yes, the prayers were answered.
Ojibwaysweetie was one of these women who I asked to send the message to the Creator. Miigwetch.

On another occasion, my leg was greatly bothering me. I could barely walk, let alone dance. I gave a gift of asemaa to this one young lady and she danced for me. I danced two more days. My Dad told me when I was young that G'Zheminidoo will help those who help themselfs. I worked on my leg, massaged it, soaked in the hot tub, wrapped it along with the prayers. I'm glad that I learned this from him.

Prayer is wonderful and works, but...... you also have to do the right things.

I am grateful for those conveyors of prayer.

Hello Everyone, I haven't posted in quite some time but I felt that I needed to in this case. I normally don't ask for prayers for myself.. However.. this year has been incredibly hard.. I was just married a few months ago.. and just found out last month that my now husband has been with someone off and on for the entire time we were together. Needless to say..that pretty much destroyed me.. and as a result i've been sick both mentally and physically since then. I've been confused and not sure what I should be doing or which way I'm going half the time. Normally I'm a strong person and am usually the one folks go to for help.. and at this point.. I feel hopeless.. BUT.. the one good thing is .. this pushed me back to dancing again.. So I guess something good has come out of it.. and I'm sure a ton of lessons learned.. So if you would.. I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.. I know i can get through this.. just need to take baby steps right :) Well thank you and God Bless you all.

We are so lucky that we have our dresses and we are able to dance.. just one of the many many things Im so thankful for thoughout this whole horrible mess.

          Blessing to you all

Hi Sienna. I been busy working and sewing and doing some beading trying to get my new dress done and my daughters' as well. Hard to complete those tasks when working full time. My daughters are busy too. But we try! Sorry to hear of the rough time you are having. Kinda brings back those same memories for me and even newer ones. However, life goes on and no matter how much we hate to do so, we have to pray for those ones who hurt us and our families as well. *Whew* that took a lot of maturity for me to say that. lol. We know in the end, those people who hurt us and our families will have to answer to the GreatSpirit. I'll keep good thoughts, good prayers for you in my dance.

Hi Sienna. Hoping the days are better and you are in good health and spirits. I been doing a lot as of late in the way of sewing and beading. It is difficult when one is working full time and desperately trying to sew and bead in the evenings and weekends. I'm sorry to hear of the time you are going through, it brings back memories of old and as of not too late either. We have to pray for those ones who have brought hurt into our lives and the lives of our families, for they are the ones who are sick inside. And one day they alone have to answer to the wrong they've done to the greatspirit. In the meantime, you try to keep yourself healthy and move with the new days that come every morning. You still have a lot to be thankful for ;). Good thoughts and prayers are in my dance for you.

Yah' ah' teeh! all fellow jinglers! I, too, just want to put a few prayers in. I'll start with my fiance's family, for this past year, my soon-to-be father-in-law has battled cancer of the throat. He has obviously been out of work since Jan. Their family is relying on the oldest siblings income. But what I want to say is that I constantly give thanks for how his father has healed. Many prayers have been said. We had 3 NAC meetings for him so far and everytime he has gotten stronger. We have one more left. I just thank Great Spirit for healing that has taken place this past year.
Although this has been happening, my fiance' and I are having financial problems as well as his family. We definitely need prayers for this. I try to give whatever is left of my paycheck to the family for groceries, gas for DR.s appts., and so on. I know that we will get over this small bump in the road, but sometimes it seems that we won't.
Another prayer that I'm asking for is that in about 2 months, we are moving to the same town that his family lives in. So we can help with the kids and finacial situation, plus it will be cheaper to live there. I just the the confidence to find a job at their tribal complex near by.
I know there are many more prayers to be said but I just hope that you will understand where I'm coming from.

                  Ahehee'!

Hi ladies. It's been quite a while since I've been here. I am here to ask for additional prayers for my husband. He is an alcoholic. He is now in the process of seeking help though our traditional teachings. This is how I was raised. He finally sees how strong of a connection to Mother Earth (our foundation) we have with her. He recently went into his first sweats last week. He couldn't believe how powerful, peaceful, and caring our traditional people and way of life is. He truly feels this will be his way of healing. Please pray for him to continue to have strength to overcome this sickness. Please pray for him to continue to reach out for help/support when if/when he has the urge to drink. I thank you all for your love and prayers. Take Care and God Bless.

Hey Jinglers. I just wanted to thank any of you who may have helped me and my son with your healing. My son and I are now dancing again. It is amazing, I was once told that if you take care of your things (dresses, feathers, spiritual objects ect..) that they will take care of you. If you treat people good, and try and live good..or enter that powwow circle in a good way..the circle will take care of you.
I believe that it is alot to do with this dress that heals. Anyway just to let you all know that I am thankful for everything.
These prayers have been shared with the creator, my prayer is for all of you kind people. Thanks.
We are healing good, I still have my broke knee, decided against a replacement, my tibial plateau may be as good as it will get the metal is in place of the shattered bone, my tail bone is still bent up (lol so I am always losing my balance), my hip is healed up and in my hip is a rod to keep my S.I. joint in place (my other hip was just cracked a lil but the metal in there is still good to go). But all in all, IT COULD BE WORSE, and hey what do I have to complain about. Im walking, dancing and living..all this and I am able to still attend university and support my son.
Like Nietzsche said "What doesn't kill me will only make me stronger"
But thanks AGAIN and AGAIn. i can never say that enough.
Oh and for those of you who are wondering, becuase I have so much metal, in my hips, Si joint and leg..no I don't go off at the airports. LOL But I do have one concern...I think I am becoming a FemBot
Nuwa-nu!!..Look at the Yummy Yaha's!!mmmm..mmm Real injun food!!

in response to the healing dress. Coming from a full blood indian. We dance to honor the ones who are unable to dance for the people. And we put it away when we lose our loved ones. then we dance again when the time is right but never to make money from dancing. It is for good health, and then we sacrifice what goods we have to thank the creator for all the blessings that we are thankful in our everyday life.
