From experience
For the rick rick bias tape I would do just like everyone says. Get the 1/2' bias tape as your base and put the rick rack on top. If you use the rick rack just the way it is...pretty much your cones will be flying all over the place.
Especially if you use them to just hang the jingles. A friend of mine used rick rack to hang her jingles and believe me IT DIDNT LAST!!Use the regular bias tape and then put the rick rack on top!! If you want your dress to last!!??:Angel2

I think if you took the rick-racky stuff and you did sewed your cones on and then you sew another row on top of that and another on that it would look kinda kool

Holy heck when I think about it, thatd be perty cool. I dont know about that skinny bias tape, but something thicker would look really cool. If I saw some chick with zig zags holdin tha cones, I'd be like "Dang!"
But it might not fall right cuz of the weight of the cone. Heck, test it out, give it a whirl, you never know!

The zig-zag bias tape? Do you mean rick-rack? Cuz if that's what you're talking about, I personally think it's too flimsy to just use that by it's self ya know? I would use bias tape first, then add the rick-rack for decoration. I've used rick rack before, it does look nice, I just made a old school early 90s dress with rick-rack on it, I love it just as much as my dresses with the nice applique on it.:D

Has anyone tried this?
I am making a new dress (really a whole brand spanking new outfit) and I wanted to know if the zig-zag bias tape works as well as the straight one? Has anyone tried it? If not, do you THINK it would work?
i'm hoping it works........Tags: None
