    Hello! = ],

I've been out of the powwow circle for quite sometime and I am wanting to start dancing again taking it step by step of course when I stopped dancing I was a Southern Cloth dancer. I want to start doing jingle dress but I am totally clueless about how to make one.
I want to make this first myself for personal reasons and for a sense of accomplishment (of course) but in order to do that I need help. I'm in the process of making my bead work but I would like to get started on my actual dress...

so to make it short n sweet

Is there anyone out there willing to tell me what kind of dress designs there are or if anyone even has a pattern...Any help that I can get about anything else will be greatly GREATLY appreciated!

    Pilameya Kola!

There is a Missouri River pattern if you are wanting a more simple, old style of dress. If you want a more contemporary dress, just find a dress pattern you like and alter it a little as far as length and add your jingles. There really aren't "rules" on the more contemporary dresses. The biggest thing is just making sure you have enough cones to make it sound good! I know some girls who take a shirt pattern and extend it too.

I would just go to walmart or joannes and find a dress pattern that you like then alter it to fit the length you need. I have one that I love from Project Runway and all I did was extend the length. Hope this helps you out!

not to be nosey, but are you a southern cloth dancer because you married into a southern family?
