  • jingle dress traits

I do know that each tribe has different design ellements to thier dresses.

one design ele. is where there is a flap over the skirt, at the backside, with jingles attached. so the dancer can lift it to sit just by lifting the flap and not the shirt itself ...

So my question is this exculsive to one tribe??

My dress is like the apron style that your talking about. I am Lakota. To my knowledge its up to the dancer. My dress is more old style, I notice a lot of the older style dresses have the apron peice that holds the jingles. I love it, makes it easy to sit down!
