well ok,i think having a jingle dress & being a ingle dress dancer is a priveledge,not a right.what do u guys think?when i get in trouble,the first thing mom threatens to take away is my jingle dress & no more powwows,but then i behave(even though i know we will still be going th a powwow that next weekend)
but 4 real what do u guys think?

Both! Been jingle dancing for years and it is my birth right to dance jingle but also at the same time it is a priviledge.

Its a priv for all jinglers no matter who. I can't say its a right because rights are first needing rules and laws. But in the sense of traditional law regarding the dress in the first place I guess you could look at it that way.

First and foremost the jingle dress is an Ojibway dress. Therefore it not only is a right, but a birth right to dance jingle.
It also is a priviledge.
