sometimes i think so then I remind myself that winning or placing at a powwow isn't everything, it's not my entire life cuz I got other things going on. I quit thinking like that cuz powwows aren't all about winning...well for some it is but not to me I used to have a crappy attitude bout it but now I'm over it. And sometimes it seems people don't want to admit the politics that can but not always goes on behind it all and dismiss it . Then again I'm always hearin that you hafta make a name for yourself(if you already don't have one) or hearin you gotta pay your dues. Anyways I'm glad I'm at where I'm at cuz then I'm not in the spotlight to be ridiculed on whether or not i'm in w/ the latest trend or some of the other anal stuff well known dancers get hated on for especially in this day where people can log onto the computer and talk smack about other dancers while hiding behind a screen name. But that's my lil take on this subject

LOL How do I feel?? Hmmm well let me see I been competing all my life on sports teams and 6 years in the contest circuit and I've learned a lot doing both. All I really have to add is that I'm really glad I have elders around to keep me in check and remind me of the real reason of dancing that if I take contesting too seriously and just want to win then I've lost the real meaning of what it is to be out there and dance and I should be grateful I can be out there and dance! So trying to "break on through to the other side"(get it the Doors) doesn't matter to me anymore cuz like I said I learned. Sometimes I don't even get a number and sometimes when I do I don't line up to be judged I'm just glad to be out there dancin hard to those kick as$ drums!

yep, it's all about how u feel in your heart; and dancing for the health of it. I think that's why I stopped dancing along time ago. But recently started again, but not for the $$, there's some that do. But that's them and this is me, and I prefer to just dance for the love of it. Esp. those songs that just take u someplace far away..LOL..

About names, don't know...not a true/blue die hard pow wow er, just in my spare time or some weekends..sooooooo there's just too many politics involved.

Naw...not cuz of my name, I dunno why they wouldn't let me...I remember I got stuck down south, and luckily i was wiff some frenz at the time, but they were from that area, so they werent coming back up here...anyway I remember that we got to the PW a lil late that nite, and That lady just glared at me like I stole something, like as if she HATED my guts...actually I caught a couple glares, theres some angry ANGRY folks out there......but yeah she wouldn't let me So much as register, I didn't want them to rig the whole thing...I just wanted an equal shot like everyone else because I needed to get back home. But yeah the next day just as soon as I start hoofin out across the friggin field, I hear it: "Registration is NOW closed!" So u know...Whateva, it all worked out eventually SOMEHOW...but I have heard of personal politics and stuff playing a part in who will go to what powwow. Names carry a great deal of weight for some reason...Whassup wit dat?....
