Old style or Contemp?

Just wanted to know what style you prefer to watch (or dance yourself)... Old style (straight) or contemporary??

Whenever I do dance, which is usually in AZ, I stick to oldstyle cuz all the girls dance crazy contemp over there. There are a few who keep it smooth and controlled but the majority is to go all out.

Dance oldstyle, but like to watch both too. Although some of the contemporary stylers are just too much glitter and lace and far too fancy. I saw one a few years back (not saying where), but she had so many cones on her dress, reminded me of the tin man on the Wiz of Oz. For realz. Some of the contemps are fun to watch.

I like to watch the ladies jam out ol style on the sidestep especially around here cuz they have fun and get into it smilin havin a good time and when they saasaakwe (not sure of the spellin on that) I also like watching the smooth contemp dancers not the crazy fancy shawler ones. I like to dance a mellowed out style a lil on the contemp side. I guess I like watchin both styles and dancin both styles.

Its so much fun. Everyone at the powwow makes a big deal when we saasaakwe!! *LOL* I love it. :D

I like to watch old style. It's true, most of the contemporary jinglers I've seen are wild with their steps. I try to stick to being graceful and smooth :) no kicking cuz then I'd have to put on a fancy outfit :p

I would have to say old style, I have been up north to see the real deal in Whitfish Bay. The ladies from there know the true old style. The contemp style is OK too, but not the spinning, or the flag waving of the fans. Some are too much!!
