After two weeks I finally finished the first section of my dance stick. This section is about 5" in length...too bad I ended up doing about 13" worth of beadwork to get that 5" doneBut I'm pretty happy with the end result.

Just finished up an 1850 period blanket strip done in 10 beads. Never used that large of a size before...but it fit the historial requirements. Took about a month. Right now I am finishing up two baby amulets for a friends twins. Using 14 and 16/0 beads...love the small ones. Next I start on a new doll and leggings for me. After reading about the lovely leggings by Lilbigwoman...got me going on making some for my Sioux dress.

why thank ya!!! My mom & aunts helped out with a lot of it. So the credit goes around for my entire family...helping with the trappings and giving me support during that hectic year.
I learned that before I even consider taking a royalty position for anything, think about the committments...I had fun, but we was so busy, all I wanted to do in my free time was sleep and relax. HAHAHOWDY HOWDY HOWDY!!! LONG TIME NO SEE!!!

by dancingwaterI'm starting on my leggings and hairties for my jingle outfit. I'm using the lap pads (crib liners) for the leggings, but someone here suggested using vinyl placemats for beadwork, and I went out looking for some, but the closest thing I found was at Kmart, its by Martha Stewart, called Heavy Duty...

by jen_lee34Hi,
I am new to PowWows.com. I am an amature beader. I love making earrings. My daughter is a fancy shawl dancer. I have made her earrings. But now I want to make the hair barrette for the back of her head. And would like to know if anyone could tell me how to get started. Do I bead each bead...-

by J.L. BenetDoes anyone use Inkle Looms for weaving sashes/garters for pow-wow regalia? I know it's not as nice as fingerweaving, but how accepted is it as an alternative? I've been seeing them quite often on Voyageur and French & Indian War reenactors.
